Count Your Blessings, Name Them One By One…

This week we celebrated Thanksgiving. One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving is reflecting on the blessings God had given me throughout the year. And this has been amazing year!

This has been the one year anniversary of membership at my current church. A place I feel so welcomed and valued, which I had not felt at my previous church for a long time. A place where I have made some great new friends and have been given wonderful ministry opportunities. A place where I actually feel I belong.

This has been another year that I have been able to enjoy all four of my children still living at home, even though they are all grown up. Although they are all embracing their futures and what God has for them, I have been able to spend meaningful time with each one of them, despite my crazy schedule.

This has been been the 30th year I have spent with my husband. In fact, we met at Christmas time in 1989 on a blind date set up by mutual friends. I will always consider my husband one of the greatest blessings God has ever given me.

I have been honored to have yet another wonderful year with my parents. My relationship with them has gotten much deeper over the years and I feel so blessed to be loved by them.

This past year has been a time of transition, growth, and change. I had my gastric bypass surgery, I started this blog, I have revitalized my copy editing business, and have started trying my hand at freelance writing. One of the reasons for some of these changes is because of the challenging support from a friend of mine who also happens to be my empowerment coach. Just another example of how God puts certain people into your life for a specific purpose! I only hope I can someday help her as much as she has helped me.

I am grateful for another year at my job as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at a group home for people who have special needs. November marked my 4th anniversary and I truly believe God handpicked this particular job for me.

I have been enjoying a newly passionate and challenging relationship with my Lord. I feel closer and closer to Him every day and I am learning more and more about Him, deepening my faith and my commitment to Christ.

Have you looked back on your blessings this year? What are you grateful for?
